Hi Fren,
How are you? I got your e-mail address from your site. Cool site by the way.
Just now I had a chance to sit down with the Danelectro Baritone and I wanted to tell you that you did an amazing job! Unbelievable how you can make a cheap guitar play so smooth.
So: thank you, and I'll be back soon :-)
Peace,
Nard
Fren,
I couldn't be more pleased with the job you did on my SCGC 12-string - I can hardly put it down. You turned a couple of thousand dollar "white elephant" into highly valued part of my collection - great job! Intonation and action are probably the best I have experienced in any 12 string acoustic.
Thanks Again!
PS: I posted a nice little blurb in the AGF General Discussion regarding the guitar and the great job you did in bringing it back to superb playing condition - so if you get pinged through your website by someone referencing the SCGC, or my post (Martin_Nut user ID) in the AGF, that would be where the connection was made

Hey Fren,
I have thought about writing to you nearly every time I have picked up my Strat over the past six months, but the thought never lasted until I got around a computer. I just want to let you know that your $50 tune-up completely restored all the value in a $3,500 guitar. I literally never played this instrument because of the flaws in its intonation and action. Now it’s my favorite axe. Thanks again for riding to its rescue.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Scot
Fren,
The guitar arrived today and it plays like a dream... it was definitely worth the wait! The craftsmanship is top-notch... the routing is impeccable and the set-up is perfect. Also, I had no idea that a pickup change would have such an impact on the sound... that Super Distortion really screams! I just promoted that instrument to my primary guitar.
I would have E-Mailed you earlier but I have been playing it non-stop for the last three hours! If you are interested, I may have another project for you in a few months! If you want me to write a testimonial for your website let me know and I will.
Thanks again for my early Christmas present!
Brian
Hey Fren,
Just wanted to let you know I had a recording session last night with the P&H (Martin Stinger) and it performed better than I could have possibly imagined. I've arleady received numerous compliments on the feel and sound of the guitar (both of which were horrible before you overhauled it). Thanks for doing such great work on it.
Best,
Danny
Fren,
MY GUITARS WORK AWESOME!!! My Fender NEVER PLAYED SO WELL! You've now made an acoustic monster outta me, I love my Ovation. Thank you soo much. I can't wait to get my "V" back!!!
Briana
Hey Fren,
Great work on the P-Bass. The gig on Sunday at the Hotel
Cafe was great. I was surprised by how well I could navigate
the neck. This is good news because I was in a trio situation
and (Bass, Acoustic, and Piano) had to be on the ball.
Thanks again.
Matt
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought
I would say "Great Job on My Guitars".
It is amazing what difference a good setup makes, The old Yamaha 12 was
dramatically improved. It has changed from a wall hanging, to a very playable
unit. The Martin OOO is working out very well too. Thanks again. You 'de
man!
Ken
Dear Fren,
I want to thank you for your outstanding work on my Squier Telecaster
(and my other guitars you've worked on). Your attention to detail and
commitment to excellence is satisfying to see. You have a genuine feel
and serious talent for this. I'm looking forward to your repairing and
modifying my other guitars, some of which you haven't seen yet.
Jon
..had my lesson last night...my teacher said I sounded
really good..but I was just hacking away at my same old licks.........---it
was the guitar, man......I've never had a guitar play so well!........
I will recommend you to everyone I meet, dude........Thanks again.....Steve
Fren, you did a great job refretting and setting up my old 335! Also some
great cosmetic work.
Thanks!!
David
Hey Fren-
Just wanted to say thanks a ton. Seriously man, it's
like a new guitar. The sustain boost from securing the bridge and probably
from the nut work you did is really surprising. I wouldn't have thought
a tremolo bridge was even capable of imparting THAT much resonance to
the body and the neck, you can FEEL the guitar resonating. The frets
feel awesome, funny though because I was so used to the flat top on the
17th fret (and using that as a position cue!) I've gotta pay a little
more attention for the time being than normal.
Again, thanks for your excellent work... I'll be getting
in touch with you soon about another guitar in the next couple weeks.
Best,
Sean
Hey Fren,
I just wanted to thank you again for the re-fret on my Strat. I spent
a couple of hours playing it last night and it plays beautifully – you
really did a great job. Even my wife commented on how beautifully the
finish was applied to the fret board. Just perfect.
Thanks again.
John
…Modified Warmoth Strat.
I can report that the Frenster Warmoth is now my daily player, and
it feels great. As you know, it was basically unplayable when I got
it. Your work not only made it work, it works great.
As soon as I get some time, I’ll e-mail and set a time when
I can bring over my other Strat for a setup and maybe a pickup swap
to something hotter.
Thanks again Fren, I appreciate your quality work…..HENCH
Hi Fren,
Just wanted to say thanks for doing such a nice job on my Taylor. When you
said that you would be changing the shape of the nut, it seemed reasonable
but I couldn't quite see it making much of a difference. I was very wrong indeed.
Things seem very much improved in terms of overall clarity. I've been having
fun with this guitar all week. I know the other guitar I've given you to work
on has much more serious problems but if this is any indication of what I can
expect, I can't wait!
Cheers
Kaspar
Fren, just a quick note to thank you for the great job
you did on the Tele, it sounds amazing. I did want
to ask you about inlay work and whether or not you do
that or know someone who does. I have often thought
of an inlay I would like at the fifteenth fret of my
335 (just a personal thing). Thanks again for all
your help, I would
like to bring in that acoustic soon that needs the
1/4" jack at the bottom of the guitar
secured.........take care, Michael
Hey Fren,
I was playing the Tal Farlow you set up for me. It is sweet! You do good work.
See you later,
